Welcome to Grysland. It almost looks like a normal place, but once you step inside it is like following Alice down the Rabbit Hole. Our normal is the stuff movies are made of!

STEPHEN RAY

Stephen Ray

 DOB 01-27-82

This is my oldest son Steve. No, he is not a 'junior' because I wanted him to have his own name. This is how I will always see My Steve...my little man, my
first guy. The one I made all of my 'first parenting of a boy' mistakes on.

Thankfully he survived those is pretty good shape!

If truth be known, Steve always wanted to be an only child. He is nowhere near as social or needy as the other kids. He always preferred to be alone in his room reading or, yes, playing with his Star Trek collections. He is a collector. As an adult, he still had all of his star trek stuff in the original boxes. Though most were lost in a fire he had in his garage, he still has comic books and other 'stuff' from his childhood.

Steve has owned his own home since he graduated from college. He is a certified Middle and Secondary school Social Studies teacher, though it is very hard these days to find a job teaching in that specific area, he has talked about going back to school to expand the areas of his certification. Steve has always been a hard worker, starting at Krogers as a teenager to make his first car payments. He also worked in a group home for handicapped, a gas station, retail stores...whatever it took to pay the bills. He is a self sufficient son who makes me proud to be his mom.

Steve is a great oldest brother to Jake. He carried him all over Disney World one evening when Jake fell asleep. They were all in costume and it was great seeing Mark Anthony carry Captain Jack!
Steve is just a wonderful man. He is now employed at the county Community Workshop in an administrative position. He has not given up on getting back into teaching, but college has been put on the back burner because he is now engaged to a WONDERFUL young woman named Lindsey. Lindsey is a nurse who loves working in oncology. They are expecting their first baby in October of 2011. I see two young people who have found what they want and fulfill each other. They will be wonderful parents of my third grandchild!
